You are in public what you are in private before God. -Oswald Chambers
What makes you different from the rest of the world? What sets you apart from who you once were? Has something happened at some point in your life that has transformed you for the better, a decisive point in your history that changed you at your core? We are all brought to this point of no return by some experience or moment, big or small, that made us look at ourselves and either change for the better or, in some cases, for the worst.
God is merciful, and by His kindness, He gives us this opportunity to turn around. “His kindness leads us to repentance” (Romans 2:4),but we should remember that “now is the time of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2), and we may not have a tomorrow; And if we are blessed to breathe again on this earth, what if our hearts are too hard or cold to hear His voice and turn? “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts” (Hebrews 3:15).
You are in public who you are before God. Who are you? Are you redeemed, forgiven and saved by the grace of God?Are you a child of God, not by your own ‘goodness’ but because of the GOODNESS of God, Who gave His Son to pay your way into God’s Family?Because God is Holy, a price had to be paid for Your sin and mine. God cannot leave sin unpunished. He loves us too much to let it enslave and kill us. “the wages of sin is death. But the free gift of God is Eternal Life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Who you are is determined by who you are before God. Who you are before other people will not matter in eternity, when you stand before your Creator. Will He see you before Him and say, “You are pardoned and may spend eternity with me, with everlasting joy and gladness, because you trusted my Son as your Savior, and have been cleansed from your sin in His Blood”?Or will He say to you, “You heard the truth about my Son, how He died to save you, but you chose to live apart from me. Now you will spend ETERNITY the way you chose to spend your time on earth: in your darkness and pain, apart from Me, the only True Light, Life and Source of everything Good.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
God’s Commands are not burdensome! When you take the step to obey, you will feel yourself lifted by His Words! His Commands, are, however, RADICAL. They will cost ALL THAT YOU ARE to obey. But when you do, They will Transform You!
